  • Equals

A broken camera gives us the equivalent of poor blogging. For me at least. We will be getting one around the middle of the month so check back and there should be something noteworthy posted along with some pictures. Summer has been a blast for us so far. Can't believe that it is July 1st!

Emma had her 18 month appointment on the 10th of June her stats are as follows:

    Weight: 22 lbs.
    Length:32 in.
    HC: 45.9

Not really sure what to write about except that all is well here and that we haven't fallen off the face of the planet.

  • Just call me sticky

Emma has a deep love for suckers. Most of the time if you ask her what she wants she says "Succ-oh" I love the way it sounds as she says it, reading it just doesn't do it justice. The down side to this friendship with suckers is the fact that she drools, hits her sucker on the table, gets it all over her hands and face and then proceeds to put sticky hands into her hair. This is when we start calling her sticky, and laughing at the way Ruby says sticky and then snap pictures of her.

This one specifically makes Jed and I laugh because 1) it's funny  2) rarely do you ever see much of Emma's teeth, along with her moving her jaw back and forth. It happens to be another favorite of hers.

Last Monday, I think the 18th we were offered tickets to the Bees game and nothing if not thrilled to go. We drove and picked Jed up from work since his office is closer to downtown. We didn't want to miss anymore of the game than we had to. Jed and I enjoyed ourselves between Ruby's crying "I'm hungry" and "I want to see the Bee, where is he?" We indulged in hot dogs for a small fee of  $11.50 for three dinker hot dogs.   While I was standing in line for the drinking fountain with Ruby I got a firm slap on the butt. I looked around baffled as that is the first time to ever happen and saw the deviant and her henchman a few feet away laughing. It turned out to be Rachel and Dave, friend's that I have had forever. It was fun to catch up for a minute before Ruby started making her escape back to our seats. It was such a fun evening, it is my hope that Jed and I will make the escape alone so we can indulge in ballpark dogs and each others company. (Just in case your reading this Jed, I am all for the romantic date)

  • Farewell

To 3 o' clock walks in the afternoon, that is. These walks have been a part of our our routine for the past couples weeks. The girls hang out in the stroller for 3 miles and then we swing into the park for some play time. It has been  great for us but today it was 90 degrees outside. It was hot and horrible.  Ruby wanted to play at the park, and was upset that I told her it was too hot to play. And the fact that the ice cold water I had packed turned hot in 40 minutes time, only convinced me further. I told her we could come home and have a  Popsicle when we got home. That did the trick.

We will just have to make a schedule adjustment, and go early so it will be cool and will relive someone of the duty of scraping me off the sidewalk later.

  • Puppy love

We spent a lovely afternoon with Brent and Suzanne's dog. I can't remember how to spell her name, so for now we will just call her M. She was a bit timid at first but was so playful. Ruby loved to hold and play with M.

As for Emma she liked pushing and pulling her favorite wheelbarrow around the yard while M would nip at her sandals, causing Emma to scream. It was pretty funny. It is nice to enjoy the benefits of a dog without the work. I told Ruby she could have a choice, we could either go play with M or we could go to the park after nap time. Her decision was quick and sure. M is such a sweet little girl, it was so sad when we left and she was whimpering in her kennel.
